Peruvian Dam Gendarme was selected from the farm of Porfirio Diaz. Porfirio was the most successful exhibitor at the last Alpaca Fiesta in Arequipa in Peru in 2003. He was selected on Peter's first trip to Peru in February 2004. He has a soft handling fleece, with excellent crimp structure from the butt to the tip of his fleece. Gendarme and his progeny have been consistent show winners. Galahad one of his male progeny was awarded Champion Black Huacaya Fleece at the International fleece competition. Gendarme has been tested by Dr Jim Watts for SRS Alpaca had to-date no other black male has tested higher for follicular density.

At the 2006 AAA National Show Celtic Rising Sun won 1st place in the Junior fawn 6-9 months male class on his first showing. Rising Sun is an ultra-fine male (17.4µ, 3.2µ SD, 18.5% CV, SF 16.6µ on his second fleece). This is a significant achievement as our property has improved pastures and all our animals are well grown out for age.
