When selecting alpacas in Peru for importation into Australia in 2004, Peter chose Prada because of her locking, blue black colour and lustre.

Canchones Prada now has 34 cria on the ground and passed these prepotient genetic strength on to her progeny.

Congratulations to Sue and Steve Pate of Hidden Lake Alpacas on purchasing Prada to add to their already elite black suri genetics.

We wish Hidden Lake great success with Prada.

We have been working with Anya and Frank Walkington of Shamarra Alpacas of New Zealand, for a number of years on their fawn huacaya breeding program.

They purchased Lee Carrow Seventh Heaven from us and we have been mating Seventh Heaven as part of our embryo transfer program and have a number of cria on the ground and more to come.

Shamarra have decided to purchase Patagonia Celtic Rising Sun ET to add to their already elite genetics. They have always loved him and we have been very pleased with what he has done for us. 

We have a number of males from Rising Sun out of our best black females. We are therefore happy to see him go to a breeder that will be able to utilise his qualities. 

Rising Sun will be going to New Zealand later this year.

It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of our friend and mentor Dianne Condon earlier today.

Di's impact on the Australia Alpaca industry cannot be underestimated as a founding member of the AAA (with her husband Ron). She was heavily involved with the importation of some of the leading alpaca genetics from Peru. She was passionate about showing her alpacas and was a mentor to so many judges throughout Australia.

Her advice to Peter in the selection of our alpacas from Peru has had a significant impact on our breeding program. Through the shipment, herself and Ron became close friends and we have enjoyed many fun times together since then.

Our thoughts are with Ron and the family at this time.
